The state of California enacted new COVID restrictions in response to the latest spike in cases and ICU hospitalizations. Notably, San Diego County was required to enact a stay-at-home order beginning December 7 for at least three weeks. STR – Hotel Performance – October 2020 County of San Diego Room night demand fell by roughly 28,000 from September to a total of 997,060 room nights sold in October. Tourism Industry Performance – October 2020

Total visitor volume for October was roughly 1.21 million, a fall of 54% from last October, but only a 3.6% decline from September 2020.Hotel/motel visitors totaled 490,000, a 7.9% decline from September, while household guests totaled 211,000, a 5.8% decline from previous month.
