Weekly Hotel Performance (May 31-June 6)

Hotel room demand remained steady at around 136,000 with occupancy falling slightly to 38% in the County, with a base supply of 50,489 hotel rooms. San Diego’s occupancy ranked 10th among top 25 markets and 3rd in western comp set, behind Phoenix and Los Angeles. Hotel room demand rose to nearly 137,000 room nights bringing occupancy to 40% in the County, with a base supply of 48,959 hotel rooms. San Diego’s occupancy ranked 7th among top 25 markets and 2nd in western comp set, behind Phoenix. Hotel room demand inched up again this past week reaching 130,000 room nights, which was the 10th highest in U.S. as other markets start to reopen ahead of California.Occupancy in San Diego County reached 38% on a supply base of 48,828 hotel rooms.
