Announcing San Diego’s 2011 Open Table Awards

August 16, 2011 By SDTA Staff Leave a Comment

In Aug. 2011, Open Table, the restaurant reservation site released their list of the country’s most breathtaking dining spots as voted by site visitors. The list of winners is derived from more than seven million reviews submitted by OpenTable diners for more than 12,000 restaurants throughout the country.

San Diego dominated the recent Open Table reader survey of the Top 50 Scenic Views with eight of the top 50 honors going to San Diego-area restaurants. The Shores Restaurant and The Marine Room received the OpenTable Diners’ Choice Award for Top 50 Most Scenic Restaurant in the United States. San Diego’s Bali Hai Restaurant, Bertrand at Mister A’s and Island Prime received recognition, as did La Jolla’s Marine Room and The Shores Restaurant. Coronado’s Il Fornaio and Peohe’s and Cardiff’s The Chart House also topped the list.

Of note: More than half of OpenTable’s full Top 50 list are located in the Golden State. San Diego alone claims eight, which is the most for any city.
