
San Diego shone bright last week, thanks to the one-two lift from a large conference in the early part of the week and a strong July 4th weekend. San Diego County ranked highest among the top 25 U.S. markets, a positive bellwether heading into the month that includes ESRI and Comic-Con.
- Room Nights Sold: San Diego County hotels sold 378,073 room nights, an increase of 14,558 compared to the same week in 2024.
- Occupancy: The average occupancy rate was 81.2% (+1.1% YoY), ranking 1st among the top 25 U.S. markets and the Western competitive set.
- Top 3 U.S. Markets: San Diego, New York (79.2%), and Denver (78.3%)
- Top 3 Submarkets: Pt. Loma-Airport (86.6%), Downtown (85.4%), Mission Bay (85.0%)
- City properties were 97% occupied on Friday night.
- ADR averaged $272, up 11.2% YoY, while RevPAR was $221, up 12.8% YoY.
- The Society for Human Resource Management conference at the San Diego Convention Center extended into this week from the previous week, generating an additional 38,190 room nights for the market.
