
In line with the market volatility observed over the past six weeks, San Diego hotel performance surged last week, largely driven by a major conference that boosted early-week demand. However, weekend performance lagged 2024 levels.
- Room Nights Sold: San Diego County hotels sold 390,531 room nights, a sharp increase of 57,000 over the prior week and 20,000 more than the same week in 2024.
- Occupancy: Averaged 83.9%, tying San Diego for 3rd among the top 25 markets with Denver, and placing 2nd in the western comp set behind Seattle (84.0%), which hosted the Seattle International Blockchain Conference.
- Top 3 Markets: New York (88.4%), Seattle (84.0%), and Denver/San Diego (83.9%)
- Top 3 Submarkets: Pt. Loma-Airport (91.2%), UTC (90.5%), and Mission Bay (90.1%)
- Notably, every submarket across the city exceeded ~85% occupancy last week.
- ADR averaged $245, up 10.3% YoY and RevPAR was $205, up 13.1% YoY.
- A major event at the convention center contributed 45,000 room nights, peaking at 10,230 rooms on Monday.
