The San Diego Tourism Authority is happy to announce Marilyn Hannes has returned to San Diego and is now a new member of our Board and Executive Committee.
WELCOME BACK MARILYN HANNES
Recently, SeaWorld announced changes to its operating leadership. Marilyn Hannes was promoted to Park President for both SeaWorld San Diego and it’s affiliated water park, Aquatica, in Chula Vista. She replaces John Reilly who departed the destination for SeaWorld Entertainment in Orlando.
Most recently Hannes served as Vice President of Global Sales for SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment where she was responsible for domestic and international sales and international marketing for SeaWorld, Busch Gardens, Discovery Cove, Aquatica Waterparks, Adventure Island and Water Country U.S.A. She began her 18-year career with SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment as Director of Travel Industry Sales for SeaWorld San Diego where she also served as Director of Sales and Vice President of Marketing and Sales.

John Reilly has been a loyal partner and supporter of the San Diego Tourism Authority for many years. We wish him all the best during his transition to SeaWorld in Orlando. He was appointed as the new Chief Parks Operations Officer and will have operational oversight over all of SeaWorld Entertainment’s theme parks. Good luck in Florida and enjoy the humidity, John!
