You may have heard about SeaWorld’s new orca habitat, the Blue World Project. Blue World will not only enhance the killer whale’s environment and provide new opportunities for education and research, it also will help drive visitors and jobs to San Diego. The project goes before the California Coastal Commission next month.
Because SeaWorld’s Certified Master Plan (and EIR) contemplated refurbishing the park, this attraction is not over 30 feet and cannot be seen outside the leasehold – the Commission is the only regulatory hurdle required. SeaWorld is asking for letters of support. Please take a moment out to send your letter. It can be emailed to: seaworldorcafacility@coastal.ca.gov.
For your convenience, the SeaWorld Blue World Project Support Letter is attached, but please feel free to customized the letter to tell your own SeaWorld story. Thank you for supporting one of our members. If you have questions please feel free to contact SeaWorld’s Vice President of State Affairs Corrine Brindley at Corrine.brindley@seaworld.com.
