Weekly Hotel Performance Update – October 19-25, 2025

October 30, 2025 By JaNelle Corley Leave a Comment

Hotel performance in San Diego declined last week, with both demand and rates losing ground. Properties sold about 33,000 fewer room nights compared to the same week last year. The absence of a couple of large conventions accounted for roughly 25,000 of that shortfall, but even after factoring this in, the market still underperformed compared to the same period in … [Read more...] about Weekly Hotel Performance Update – October 19-25, 2025

Weekly Hotel Performance Update – October 12-18, 2025

Hotel performance has strengthened over the past two weeks, despite October starting slowly. Daily data from October 1–18 shows year-over-year gains across all key metrics except occupancy, which has dipped due to new supply at the Gaylord. Even so, occupancy stands at 76.4% for the month to date—just 0.7% below the same period in 2024. Meanwhile, ADR (+1.6% YoY), demand (+3.2% … [Read more...] about Weekly Hotel Performance Update – October 12-18, 2025

Hotel performance has softened in recent weeks. Last week, every key metric except supply declined year-over-year—a trend that suggests our already-conservative forecast for a flat Q3 compared to 2024 may have been too optimistic. Daily data from July 1 through September 13 shows San Diego County room night production down 1.8% year-over-year, which is surprising given the … [Read more...] about Weekly Hotel Performance Update – September 7-13, 2025

Weekly Hotel Performance Update – August 31-September 6, 2025

In aggregate, hotel performance was stable last week, but a peek under the hood reveals some nuances. A shift in the convention calendar drove demand and occupancy higher mid-week compared with the same week in 2024, while weekend demand came in measurably cooler. Last week extends a pattern of what appears to be inconsistent leisure travel demand. On the bright side, … [Read more...] about Weekly Hotel Performance Update – August 31-September 6, 2025

Weekly Hotel Performance Update – August 24-30, 2025

September 5, 2025 By JaNelle Corley Leave a Comment

San Diego hotels had a mixed performance heading into Labor Day weekend. While room night demand matched last year’s levels, the mix shifted. A medium-sized convention held during the same week in 2024 came into town a week later in 2025, reducing weekday demand. In contrast, Labor Day weekend saw a surge, with Saturday night occupancy across the city reaching 97% to … [Read more...] about Weekly Hotel Performance Update – August 24-30, 2025
