Media Tour Promotes BA Flight and San Diego as a Destination

ConVis hosted a British Airways familiarization tour with reporters from the UK, Italy, Sweden, Denmark and France, among other European nations, in conjunction with the inaugural British Airways flight, direct from London’s Heathrow to San Diego, on June 1. From June 1 through 4, reporters were introduced to the diverse activities that San Diego offers to visitors, to generate favorable media coverage. A coastal tour featured lunch with Mayor Jerry Sanders at the Lodge at Torrey Pines to celebrate the new flight; the downtown tour included the zoo and Balboa Park, reception on the rooftop of the Andaz Hotel, dinner at Croce’s, attendance at the America’s Cup Sailing Regatta, lunch at Peohe’s overlooking the San Diego skyline and dining at Café Coyote; the final city tour concluded with a SeaWorld excursion, lunch with Shamu and a waterfront tour with a trip to the famed USS Midway Museum.
