On Sept. 3, the Mingei International Museum opened its doors after three years of renovations. The venue provides a wide variety of spaces to hold events of any size. The new theater features a 13-foot ceiling, classic Danish-designed chairs, advanced lighting and audio-visual systems, and a 40-foot glass door that opens access to the outdoor amphitheater and Palm Canyon. Directly above the theater are two intimate terraces perfect for private events with awe-inspiring views of the Plaza, California Tower, Palm Canyon and the new courtyard. From top to bottom, the newly renovated museum exhibits a sleek, sophisticated and engaging design guaranteed to heighten any event experience.
What was once the South Palisades parking lot has been transformed into a Palisades Plaza offering a spacious and safe pedestrian-friendly platform for events. The Palisades Plaza incorporates newly planted trees, updated landscaping, enhanced lawn areas and an ample amount of seating space. The plaza is surrounded by Balboa Park’s Air & Space Museum, San Diego Automotive Museum, Mid-City Gymnasium and upcoming Comic-Con Museum.
