Weekly Hotel Performance – November 15-21, 2020
- Room night demand fell by more than 3,700 to 186,560 room nights sold this week – a level similar to the first week of November.
- Weekday nights saw a significant increase in demand among Downtown and Mission Valley properties, with a lesser increase among I-15 Corridor and Pt. Loma/Airport properties.
- Weekend nights (Friday & Saturday) were weaker compared to last week in every region of San Diego County. The highest occupancy on Saturday night was in South/East County at 63.9%.
- County occupancy dropped slightly to 42.1% ranking San Diego 7th among top 25 markets and 3rd in the western competitive set (behind Phoenix 49.9% and Los Angeles 45.1%).
- South/East County properties remain in the lead with occupancy at 63.5%, followed by Northeast/Escondido at 51.8%, and now Mission Valley in third at 46.1%.
- County ADR fell to $109 this week ranking San Diego 7th among top markets and 4th in the western comp set (behind Los Angeles $123, San Francisco $115, and Anaheim $109).
- Coastal regions continue their hold on highest ADRs with La Jolla at $207, Mission Bay at $151, and Del Mar/Oceanside at $119.
- RevPAR dipped slightly to $46 ranking San Diego 5th among top markets and 3rd in the western comp set (behind Los Angeles $56 and Phoenix $49).
