Weekly Hotel Performance – November 8-14, 2020
- Room night demand rose by more than 3,000 from last week to a total of 190,308 room nights sold in the county this week.
- Demand rose notably this week among properties located Downtown, Del Mar/Oceanside, La Jolla, and UTC with Sunday-Wednesday nights being the biggest driver of growth.
- Pt. Loma/Airport and Mission Valley were the only regions to have a significant increase in demand on Friday-Saturday nights.
- County occupancy rose slightly to 42.9% ranking San Diego 9th among top 25 markets and 3rd in the western competitive set (behind Phoenix 52.7% and Los Angeles 46.7%).
- South/East County remains the region with highest occupancy at 66.9% this week, followed again by Northeast/Escondido at 55.0% and Del Mar/Oceanside reclaims third place at 47.9%. South/East County and Northeast/Escondido also had the highest occupancy on Saturday night, at 70.1% and 64.3% respectively.
- ADR remained steady at $115 this week ranking San Diego 6th among top markets and 3rd in the western comp set (behind Los Angeles $125 and San Francisco $120).
- La Jolla, Mission Bay, and Downtown continue to garner the highest rates, averaging $207, $159, and $131, respectively.
- RevPAR rose slightly to $49, ranking San Diego 4th among top markets and 3rd in the western comp set (behind Los Angeles $58 and Phoenix $56).
