During the second week of June, San Diego hosted Cisco Live!, a very large convention that contributed to an increase in occupancy rates in most regions, along with dramatically higher average daily rates. Occupancy rates ranged from 84.4 percent in Del Mar/Oceanside to 93 percent in the Pt. Loma/Airport region. All regions (except Del Mar/Oceanside) experienced growth in occupancy compared to this week last year. Properties in La Jolla gained the most with a 7.8 percent improvement, followed closely by hotels in the I-15 Corridor and Escondido, at 7.4 percent and 7.3 percent respectively. Average daily rates ranged from $138.55 in Escondido to $278.86 in La Jolla. Many regions saw double digit growth in ADR this week, with Mission Valley leading at 19.2 percent growth, followed by Downtown at 17.9 percent, and Pt. Loma/Airport at 17.8 percent growth.
