The third week of April 2019 saw hotel occupancy rates in most San Diego regions improve upon 2018 numbers for the first time in several weeks. Occupancy rates ranged from 76.5 percent in Escondido to 88.4 percent in Mission Valley, with all but two regions increasing year over year. The regions with the most growth were Mission Valley with 8.3 percent growth, followed by Escondido with 7.6 percent growth over 2018. Average daily rates ranged from $114 in Escondido to $243 in La Jolla. Growth in ADR was mixed across the regions, but those with the greatest growth were hotels in Mission Bay at 11.9 percent, followed by Del Mar/Oceanside properties with 7.7 percent growth.
