The San Diego Tourism Authority (SDTA) was a big winner at the recent San Diego Chapter of the American Marketing Association Awards, scoring three major awards including Marketer of the Year for the Kids Free in San Diego campaign. The highly successful campaign ran last Fall and increased inbound travel to San Diego during the month of October, a traditionally slow travel month.
The SDTA also won Best On-Line Marketing Campaign for the Fall Online Happiness is Calling campaign and Best Integrated Marketing Campaign for Kids Free San Diego. Additionally, the SDTA took two runner-up honors for best Cause Marketing Campaign, Why Travel Matters, and Best Social/Viral Marketing Campaign, San Diego is Calling.
The San Diego American Marketing Association award program, known as the AMYs, is open to marketing professionals in all industry sectors. The awards acknowledge marketers who stand above the rest, as well as organizations and individuals who set themselves apart from the competition by making ordinary ideas and products extraordinary.
