The Biden administration announced Friday morning that it will end the pre-departure COVID-19 test requirement for travelers bound for the United States — a move hailed by the tourism industry, which had long lobbied for the lifting of the mandate.
The decision takes effect this Sunday, June 12. U.S. Travel, the national nonprofit that advocates for the travel industry, estimates the change will bring an additional 5.4 million international visitors to the United States and $9 billion more in travel spending this year alone.
