Company Name: Tin Roof San Diego
Type of Business: Music venue, restaurant and bar.
With a mission to provide a lively and eclectic space for musicians and music devotees, downtown San Diego’s Tin Roof — a live-music hotspot and café — was created to celebrate the famous, could-be-famous and everyone in between.
When COVID-19 shook up the lives of businesses and individuals alike, Tin Roof quickly responded and pivoted its operations. With a top priority to ensure the safety of guests and staff, Tin Roof quickly enforced all guidelines set by the state and city, and immediately turned to catering and delivery services to continue sharing a taste of the place and maintaining the essence of what Tin Roof is all about.
Keeping the energy and spirit alive during difficult times is no easy feat. What kept Tin Roof hopeful was the positive, can-do attitude of its staff and the guidance of its leadership team. Tin Roof General Manager Darrien Oliver says: “You know strength comes from the top, and it’s easy when you have leadership who want to get you back to work as much as you want to be back at work doing what you love.”
As we embark on the road to recovery, every journey looks different. Right now, Tin Roof is focusing on building guest confidence. Darrien shares the importance of “making sure our guests feel safe and welcome back to raise the roof with us … (and finding) consistency in being that same fun place we were and are.”
So grab your dancing shoes, work up an appetite and get ready to revel in tunes from local artists and big names this year at Tin Roof. The doors are always open and the beer is always cold!
