- This week’s data includes Sunday of Memorial Day weekend which was the peak night for the week, and kept demand relatively unchanged from the week prior for a total of 306,337 room nights sold throughout San Diego County.
- San Diego’s occupancy and ADR outperformed all the western region competitive set cities.
- Sunday night sold nearly 58,000 rooms throughout the county, followed by dips in demand Monday – Wednesday, and then picking up again Thursday into the weekend.
- Sunday’s occupancy ranged from mid-80s to mid-90s throughout the county, while the following Saturday saw occupancy range from low-80s to mid-90s.
- County occupancy was 68.2% for the week, ranking San Diego 4th among top 25 U.S. markets (behind Miami 77.1%, Tampa 74.2%, and Virginia Beach 68.6%) and 1st in the western competitive set.
- South/East County continues to have the highest occupancy at 84.5%, followed by Northeast/Escondido at 77.3%, and Pt. Loma/Airport at 72.8%.
- ADR inched higher this week to $167 ranking San Diego 4th among top 25 U.S. markets (behind Miami $257, Oahu Island $213 and New York $176) and 1st in the western comp set.
- Beach regions grew ADRs this week, with La Jolla at $278, Mission Bay at $265 and Del Mar/Oceanside at $208.
