- Hotel demand softened to a COVID-respectable 255,839 room nights sold throughout the county this last week with the spring break travel period coming to an end.
- The majority of the softening occurred over the week day nights, as Sunday-Wednesday demand dropped to around 31,000 room nights sold and Thursday fell to about 35,000 room nights.
- Weekend demand, however, remained about as strong as previous weeks with Friday and Saturday nights selling roughly 46,000 and 52,000 room nights, respectively.
- Occupancy averaged 82% throughout the county on Saturday night.
- County occupancy averaged 57.3% through the week, ranking San Diego 9th among top markets and 3rd in the western competitive set, behind Phoenix at 68.4% and Los Angeles 61.6%.
- Top performing regions were South/East County at 77.6%, followed by Northeast/Escondido at 72.9% and I-15 Corridor at 60.6%.
- County ADR fell to $131 ranking San Diego 6th among top markets and 2nd in the western comp set, behind Los Angeles at $136.
- La Jolla Coastal and Mission Bay continued to have the highest ADR with $242 and $204 this week, respectively.
