- Weekly room night demand grew again by 10,000 over the previous week to total 263,853 room night sold, a record high since COVID began. The spring break period continues with Arizona schools mostly out in March and Southern California beginning next week.
- Weeknights got a boost with Sunday-Wednesday averaging near 32,000 room nights sold, Thursday surpassing 35,000, and Friday night nearing 47,000.
- Saturday night demand reached 54,170 room nights, just shy of the single-night COVID record of 54,516 set over Labor Day weekend last year. Occupancy averaged 85.7% throughout the county on Saturday.
- County occupancy averaged 59.6% for the week, ranking San Diego 10th among top markets and 3rd in the western competitive set, behind Phoenix 77.1% and Los Angeles 61.0%.
- South/East County continues to have the strongest occupancies running 78.9% last week as large construction and military projects continue to drive demand in the area.
- Other top performing regions were Northeast/Escondido (71.2%) and Del Mar/Oceanside (62.5%).
- County ADR was $125 ranking San Diego 7th among top markets and 3rd in the western competitive set, behind Phoenix $158 and Los Angeles $129.
- La Jolla Coastal had the highest ADR at $233, followed by Mission Bay at $194 and Downtown at $137.
