- In the first full week of the new year, San Diego County sold 141,502 room nights, roughly 8,000 room nights less than the previous week, which included New Year’s Eve.
- Through the week, demand gradually increased from 18,000 room nights sold Sunday up to 22,500 room nights sold the following Saturday, but appeared relatively flat for many regions throughout the county.
- County occupancy averaged 32.3% for the week, ranking San Diego 17th among top markets and 5th in the western competitive set (behind Phoenix 46.6%, Los Angeles 40.1%, Seattle 36.2%, and Anaheim 32.8%).
- The top performing regions in the County remain unchanged: South/East County properties averaged 61.3% occupancy, followed by Northeast/Escondido at 49.2% and Mission Valley at 39.8%.
- ADR was $94 throughout the county, ranking San Diego 10th among top markets and 5th in the western comp set (behind Los Angeles $110, San Francisco $105, Phoenix $96, and Anaheim $95).
- La Jolla Coastal continues to garner the highest rates, at $159 this week, followed by Mission Bay at $116 and Downtown at $112.
- RevPAR was $30, ranking San Diego 10th among top markets and 4th in the western comp set (behind Phoenix $45, Los Angeles $44, and Anaheim $31).
