The special event, “One Night in San Diego,” took place on May 5th at the dramatic AURA venue in Zurich, Switzerland. This exclusive event hosted more than 300 travel trade industry partners and media outlets, as well as nearly 200 consumers, and was a chance for guests to discover San Diego.
“The party was a great opportunity to show our guests what to expect in San Diego,” says Alain Chisari, Chief Commercial Officer of Edelweiss.
Upon arrival, guests were greeted by Edelweiss flight attendants, followed by a picture opportunity, and then invited to enter the main room which was designed to showcase the San Diego region and it’s popular neighborhoods and activities. Guests were treated to a mix of San Diego “signature” food samplings and cocktails prior to presentations about the destination.
April Boling, Chairman San Diego County Regional Airport Authority, is delighted about the new flight connection, “Guests from Switzerland can look forward to quick handling times and short distances since our airport is almost in the middle of the city.”
The event included a quiz show every hour and lucky winners received round trip tickets, overnight stays, and attraction tickets to visit San Diego.
“San Diego offers an exciting mix between beach and city holidays,” says Philip Hannes, Senior Director of International Marketing at SDTA.
