Ted Molter, Chief Marketing Officer for San Diego Zoo, began his new role as SDTA Board Chairman this week. Ted’s experience in the tourism industry and as a long-term member of the board is a welcome addition to our leadership team.
Ted is the chief marketing officer for San Diego Zoo Global, responsible for public relations, creative services, advertising and design, websites, publications, interpretation, sales, licensing and partnership marketing activities that support the San Diego Zoo, the San Diego Zoo Safari Park and the San Diego Zoo Institute for Conservation Research, the organization’s scientific division.
He is an active member of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums; past education and marketing committee chair, past board member and the founding foundation board chair for the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions; and board member and past chairman of the California Travel Association. As an SDTA board member and Marketing Committee member for many years, he is keenly aware of our brand, strategy and long term goals.

Ted fills the position vacated by Scott Hermes, General Manager of The Westin San Diego Gaslamp Quarter. We appreciate the hard work and dedication Scott has displayed during his tenure as SDTA Board Chairman and look forward to working with him in his new role at the Tourism Marketing Board.
