PCMA Hospitality Helping Hands is held at the beginning of PCMA’s Annual Meeting, beginning January 8, 2012 in San Diego. PCMA’s Hospitality Helping Hands is part of this premier event for meetings and event industry leaders , created as a way for the meetings industry to give back to the community in which the PCMA Annual Meeting: Convening Leaders is held. In San Diego there will be two service projects, one of which is assembling baby boutique baskets for Homeless Women given to build trust and get them to make regular prenatal and other doctor visits. But we do not have a budget for the items needed so we are dependent on your donations.

What is PCMA? PCMA (Professional Convention Management Association) represents more than 6,100 meeting industry leaders from 17 chapters in the United States, Canada and Mexico. 78% are key decision-makers for their organization. 40% are professionals in associations with 10,000+ members. 23% are corporate or independent planner professionals. PCMA members plan on average 34 meetings per year. Almost 30% of PCMA planner’s annual conferences result in more than $5 million in economic value. Their Annual Meeting: Convening Leaders is in San Diego January 8-11, 2012.
Give Back to Your Community and Make a Difference in San Diego.
Donate goods to help homeless, pregnant women and new mothers care for their infants. These goods will later be packaged together by the PMCA volunteers during Hospitality Helping Hands.
HOW? Bring new baby items to the All Industry Cruise on the Inspiration Hornblower on August 10, 2011. Drop your donations in the bin that will be located next to the registration area before boarding.
Why? We can make a difference in the lives of innocent babies born into homelessness, while at the same time demonstrating to PCMA meeting planners how community service minded the San Diego Hospitality Industry is.
