In the week leading up to Christmas, San Diego hotel occupancy rates dropped significantly, though average daily rates stayed relatively steady. Occupancy ranged from 33% in La Jolla to 56% in the Point Loma/Airport region. A handful of regions saw a decline in occupancy compared to last year, with La Jolla showing the biggest dip of almost -14% down from the same week in 2017. Point Loma, on the other hand, saw a near 19% improvement over last year. Average daily rates ranged from $91 in Mission Valley to $195 in La Jolla, with Point Loma again leading the charge in growth with a 22% increase in ADR from last year.
