In the 44th week of 2018, San Diego hotels dropped significantly in both occupancy and average daily rates. Occupancy rates ranged from 57% in Del Mar/Oceanside to 72% in Mission Valley, the only area to see an increase in occupancy over last year. Every other region in the county saw dramatic decreases from the same time period in 2017, ranging from 3% loss in most areas to almost 19% loss in Del Mar/Oceanside. Average daily rates ranged from $103 in Escondido to $218 in La Jolla. Again, most regions lost ground in ADR this week, the hardest hit being Del Mar/Oceanside with a 25% loss over last year. Downtown, Point Loma/Airport, and Mission Valley were the only regions to see modest growth in ADR for this week.
